The Gym

The gym is open 6.30am to 10pm Mondays and Wednesdays and 7:00am and 10:00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30am to 8:00pm Saturdays, and 9:00am to 9:00pm Sundays. During these times the fitness team is on hand to answer any questions you might have regarding all aspects of fitness training.

Our fitness suite offers comprehensive free weight, resistance machine, and cardiovascular areas. Our cardiovascular area includes Bikes (normal and recumbant), Concept II Rowing machines, Stairmasters, Versaclimbers, Treadmills, Rotex Cross Trainers, full body arc trainers and Arm Ergometers. Staff supervision is constantly available to help motivate, train and teach!

There is no need to worry or be scared if you have never been in a gym before. Our staff will take you through a full induction and show you how to use each piece of equipment, and even create a personal fitness programme to follow so you can make an immediate start on improving your fitness. An induction needs to be completed with a member of our staff before you are able to train in our gym. This not only ensures you are safe using our equipment, but also that you are in good enough health to start a structured programme.

Whether your personal fitness goal is to lose weight, tone up, get stronger, increase your aerobic fitness, build muscles or even train for a specific sport, our qualified staff can construct a programme tailored for you to help you along the way.

As a member you are entitled to four free fitness assessments per year. Here we ask you to take part in a few simple tests that when looked at together will give us an idea of your current level of fitness. During an assessment we will test:

Lung function
Blood pressure
Body fat
Anatomical measurements
Cardiovascular efficiency
Flexibility

A fitness assessment will allow us to produce a programme to help you reach your fitness goals, and measure improvements as your training progresses. If you would like further information please see a member of the fitness team in the gym. Please book your fitness assessment at reception.

Personal Training
