Reflexology

Reflexology at Sandown Sports Club by Pamela Diamond S.R.N .M.A.R. I.T.EC RAW. DIP. REFLEXOLOGY.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy, dating back to ancient Egypt  ,China  and India . It was developed in the 1930's into the treatment we now know as reflexology when it was found that reflex areas in the hand and feet were linked to organs and glands in the body in the same zone.

Reflexology is suitable for all ages, and is beneficial for mother and baby during pregnancy and childbirth. It is  a very individual, holistic treatment and while reflexologists do not claim to cure ,diagnose or prescribe,,tiny blockages and imbalances can be detected and released allowing efficient and harmonious functioning of the body systems!

It is also excellent for the relief of stress and anxiety.

A Reflexologist works on points on the feet , lower legs and sometimes hands which bringing relief for stress and tension in the body and  promoting a sense of general well being

What happens when I go for reflexology?

Reflexology is a very easy treatment to receive, the most clothing that will have to be removed is socks and shoes!

The first treatment includes a full medical consultation to ensure that there are no contraindication to treatment.

Treatment is given in our comfortable new treatment room on a massage couch . Pressure is applied to the feet and lower legs , there may areas of mild ,temporary discomfort but generally the circulation is stimulated which encourages the release of hormones in the body to provide a very relaxing experience .!

After one or two treatments,  the body responds in a very noticeable way .and i recommend a course of weekly treatments .after this many client choose to have regular treatments on a two weekly or monthly basis to maintain the benefits of their treatments.and Reflexology may be combined with an Indian Head Massage treatment which is a true whole body experience!
